Charleston’s real estate market is still booming. Demand is very high and inventory is low; which is a likely cause in for a 4% reduction in the total number of YTD transactions. Prices are still rising. YTD, our market is up 6.8% in median sales price. New construction is abundant and popular, albeit not able to keep up with demand. Johns Island sales are up 75% in transactions year to date with an 18.5% increase in median sales prices. Goose Creek and Moncks Corner are seeing a boom in new construction due to the building of the Volvo plant. One of the Goose Creek MLS areas is up 21% in transactions and 8.9% in median sales price. Moncks Corner has 35.1% more sales YTD. It’s going to be a great month in Charleston!
