We are so appreciative of the amount of effort and support we have seen in this industry as the virus makes our lives a little more hectic, but we’re projecting that June will be an incredible month for homeownership! We wanted to take a moment from our busy workday to reflect and recap our Lend it Forward efforts for the months of April & May.
To recap – each month, our team chooses one charity or non-profit to acknowledge and give back to. For each closing in that given month, we donate $100 towards that charity. This is our way of giving back to the deserving organizations that make Charleston feel like home.
We choose the charity based on our personal experiences and knowledge of charities doing great work in our area. If you know of a charity that we should know of, please email us and we will consider it for a future month!
APRIL: we shifted gears towards two charities on the front lines of battling COVID-19. Each homebuyer was given an option of choosing between the two charities, and in April we raised $1000 for the Low-Country Food Bank and $1500 for the CDC!
MAY: we chose the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society as our Lend it Forward Charity of the month. Both of us on the team have had friends and family who have been affected by this disease, so it was a no-brainer to support our chapter here in Charleston. In May, we were able to raise $2700 of LLS by closing 27 loans in the month!
As always, there are so many ways to help these organizations in your own way (even if you’re not closing this month!) Through donating on your own or volunteering, you can give back year-round.
